New version of "PNClient" software now available as beta release

As of now a beta version of the "PNClient" software is available at our download portal. Interested and versed users are kindly asked to test this version. 

To do so please set up a test environment and unpack the file into it upon successful download. Beside a couple of optimations at your suggestion this version also contains all data fields of the current article master layout 3.7.1 (q.v. under Documentation/ EDI formats). Please send us your feedback on this using the common mail address and thereby help us optimise this product for you.

Charts "Digital Only"

Additionally music titles which are only available as downloads via Internet are being factored into the official German single charts since the end of July 2007.

By this the music industry allows for the increasing relevance of the download market for the business. Consumers, media and market partners expect the charts being a realistic reflection of the music market. To ensure an equal treatment of sound recording medium and download download-only titles will from now on account for the charts. More and more labels, artists and bands use the internet as an access for their music sales. Up to now music downloads only accounted for the charts if the title had additionally been released on a physical product.  The official German music charts are compiled by "media control" by order of Deutsche Phonoverbände.
